Meet our team
KRYSTAL ARNEZ BAILEY
FOUNDER, PRESIDENT
As a life-long advocate of diversity and inclusion, Krystal created Pretty Big Project as a vehicle to provide assistance to those in marginalized communities who are forced to deal with the harsh repercussions of navigating the obtainment of education and independent success in an inequitable system. As a first-generation American, mother of two, and a product of an underserved school system, Krystal’s investment in Pretty Big Project is personal. Krystal received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Diversity Studies and Social Equality from the University of Central Florida.
DR. RACHEL WORD, PT
DIRECTOR OF HEALTH EQUITY
Rachel earned her bachelors in athletic training from the University of Kansas and her doctorate of physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Being on the front lines in healthcare has been eye-opening for Rachel, as she has witnessed racial inequalities and biases within the healthcare system on a daily basis. Although she has never lived these experiences, she has seen hundreds of patients suffer through a system in which true equity is not always realized. She aims to help achieve health equity for all, and assist in providing greater access to healthcare resources for those who are underserved in our community.
NICHOLAS BAILEY
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina by a single mother, Nicholas is the embodiment of you are not your circumstances. He is a marketing technologist living in the Atlanta Metro area and made his career at the intersection of the public sector and tech, from handling communications as a staffer in the U.S. Congress to working for some of the biggest tech companies in the world in Amazon, and currently Google. Nicholas has lived the experience he’s now helping others navigate, and for him that’s the ultimate reward.
JESSICA CAPPS
PROGRAMS DIRECTOR
Jessica was inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall to focus her resources on creating a positive impact on the interconnected dynamics between people and animals. She is currently pursuing an M.A. from the Institute for Humane Education in order to better understand and navigate the overlaps between animal abuse, human oppression, and environmental exploitation. Jessica is honored to be Pretty Big Project’s Program Director because she shares the belief that equity in education is fundamental for individuals and communities to thrive.
